WWKIP Day

WWKIPD 2013

I’m sad to admit that I missed WWKIP Day (World Wide Knit In Public Day). I had guests from out of town last week so knitting, although on my mind, was not my priority. So for a day, people from all over the world were taking their knitting outside. As I type this I can feel the sting of jealousy for all those public knitters. Would I have made it through the gates at Canada’s Wonderland with my knitting, absolutely not. And I do enjoy knitting outside in the comforts of my backyard, but there would be this ‘je ne sais quoi’ feel to knitting in public. That somehow all of us knitter’s are connected. Perhaps by the little red thread in the Chinese and sometimes Japanese legends. But much less about fate and more about showing the world we all stand together for the love of one special craft. And I missed it 🙁 So although I wasn’t a part of it, I would love to see and share any photos that you may have from WWKIP Day.

Happy Knitting,

Ashley
