Knitting & Arrested Development

Only three sleeps left until the glorious return of Arrested Development. I am ridiculously excited and can’t wait to see the crazy antics of the Bluth Family. I’ve been trying to catch up with past episodes so I’ve been watching and knitting. Surprisingly (or not so surprisingly), I still manage to laugh out loud in almost every episode. And I must say thank you to Netflix and its ingenious idea of releasing the entire season at once. No more waiting week after week for the episodes to be aired. Sunday can’t come fast enough!

There’s my excitement for the week and know back to knitting. I’ve been trying to create a baby sweater pattern to match the baby blanket I knit earlier in the year, you can see the blanket here in the baby section. I want the sweater to be a pull over with a hood, but I’m having a hard with the front neck edge. A garter stitch border is proving to be difficult in the neck line because of the pattern. But I keep trying because I want this pattern to work and I want it to match. And I think that one of my attempts will yield the results I want. I just have to keep trying however frustrating it becomes.

The sweater is knit in five parts. The back, the front, each arm, and the hood. The hood and arms are joined by picking up and knitting stitches. The back and the front are joined at the shoulders by using the three needle bind off. The sides and arms are sewn together using the mattress stitch method. I love the look of the mattress seam, it is nearly invisible. I’m sure to the untrained eye it’s invisible but since I know exactly where it is, I can see it. I’m eager to finish this project, to see the final sweater and to give it to the mom-to-be.

What projects are you excited to finish? And most importantly, are you excited for long awaited Season 4 of Arrested Development?

Happy Knitting,

Ashley
