WIP Wednesdays

I’ve been working on some knitted ornaments for the last week or so. Mostly mini stocking ornaments, but a few days ago I tried knitting a snowflake. Working with (and attempting to knit with) 5 stitches on 3 needles feels almost impossible. After many slipped needles (and cursing) I finished it. Only to find I had missed a stitch somewhere in the middle and each attempt to correct this only made it worse. Needless to say, I put it away somewhere and I can’t remember where I hid it (I hope I didn’t throw it out in a fit of rage). So I went back to knitting mini stockings.

Last week I received my order from KnitPicksΒ (my first ever online yarn order!). Four skeins each of Billow in Ice Lily and Billow in Natural, all are 100% cotton and ridiculously soft. I can’t wait to make an infinity scarf, no wait maybe a hat or maybe a throw. Hmmm, maybe I should have ordered more?

I’ve also been planning my next baby blanket, in pink this time. I created this swatch, thinking that I wanted a blanket more intricate than the blue one I knit last month. But now I’m veering towards a simple diamond pattern using knits and purls. Or maybe I’ll just create both?

What’s on your needles?
