I felted it! - Mockingbird Knits

Or is it I felt it? Turned it into felt? However you would say it, I turned a beautiful knit cowl into a shrunken felt cowl.

Last February I took part in an Int’l Scarf Swap on Ravelry. I made my partner the Quiet Ribbed Scarf and she sent me this lovely green cowl. It was made with Worsted Malabrigo yarn, something which I forgot when I took my winter wear out of storage. So into the washer and dryer all of my acrylic knit mitts, hats and scarfs went (including the wool cowl). An hour an a half later I had shrunken and felted the cowl. I wanted to cry. It was cozy, pretty and warm and now I can’t even pull it over my head.
