WIP Wednesdays – The Forgotten Ones

I wasn’t planning on writing a WIP Wednesday post today seeing as I haven’t had a chance to knit or crochet much since last week. I thought I’d have a chance to go crazy finishing my projects since my moms been here for almost a week but I feel guilty leaving her with the baby all day, everyday. It’s tiring work looking after a baby. You’re not really doing anything but you’re doing everything and you’re always busy but not really busy. Can you tell it’s hard to explain. Anyways I’m getting off topic.

So my mom’s here and there’s a few things I wanted to tackle while she watched the baby (yes more than knitting or crocheting — I can’t believe it either). First were the Christmas decorations. They weren’t still up but they were all over the basement and just a giant mess. So I spent the better part of Monday organizing, rearranging and putting them away.

Now today I’ve decided to tackle my craft room. I say craft room but what it is really is a decent sized yarn vault, with a desk. I love this room, and I will blog about it once I have it organized and looking all pretty. And while I was cleaning it out I found 3 projects that I had been working on and simply forgot about. How do you forget projects your working on? I have no idea. I must have packed them away, or hid them when we had company and they slipped my mind. Oopsies.

My Forgotten WIP

First is the purple crochet baby blanket. I started this over a year ago. That’s right a whole year. I can’t believe it’s been sitting down here all lonely and such for a year. Clearly it’s due for some attention and loving.

Next there’s a baby sweater. I started this guy when I found out I was having a boy. I love the colours and I remember just wanting to knit a sweater, any sweater. Why it was lost in my mess of a craft room I have no idea. But I can’t wait to finish it now. I don’t think it’ll fit my little chunker but I think a part of me will cry a bit if I unravel it. Maybe I’ll put it up for sale in my Etsy Shop.

WIP Wednedays

Last we have an elephant. Well 2 pieces of an elephant. I know I lost motivation with this guy and told myself I would come back to it. Clearly I was wrong. Well until now. I can’t remember if I just wanted to sell him or if he was going to be a gift. Either way I have a feeling he’s going to sit in this WIP stage for a while. Until my motivation comes back at least.

Let’s hope I don’t find anymore while I’m cleaning my craft room. Speaking of cleaning, I should get back to it.

What’s on your needles/hook?
